SPRUCEHILL

Nothing more to say, that this band was great and obscure, as usual. Tunes are sooo sweet, I have been listening to their recordings for hundred times. Reminds me Braid, Boys life, Christie front drive and bands like this - very melodic, no heaviness at all. I really got lack of information about the band itself, could be so great to hear some stories from you. Everything I can say for sure, that there were 3 of them, they were from Canada, they made a split with Johnathan Thomas (pre or not pre-Grade) in 1996 and perfomed with a recording in a classic Strategem #2 compilation «World domination in 13 easy steps» in 1997. I do not even know their names, one of them was Duncan McEwen (on the left). I have founded his facebook page, but he does not reply to my message and I feel sad.

HUSH HARBOR

Good band. Catchy songs, emotional vocals, everything you like. Not much of bands bio at all, trying to connect with band members, but this is everything we have now.

A short-lived blip on the Pacific Northwest emo-indie scene, Hush Harbor contained the roots of several other bands, most prominently emo notables 764-HERO. Formed in Seattle, Hush Harbor was a trio consisting of vocalist/guitarist John Atkins, bassist John Wickhart, and drummer Andy RohrmannAtkins was a veteran of the local scene and several prior bands (though not grungesters Seaweed, who featured a different bass player of the same name). Drawing from angsty emo and indie minimalists from Beat Happening to LowHush Harbor began to develop a following in Seattle, but abruptly disbanded before ever making a record. Seeking to rectify that situation, Up Records approached the band about reuniting in the studio to document their music; they agreed, resulting in a self-titled EP released in 1995. By that time, Atkins had already moved on to 764-HERO, and would also start playing concurrently in the Magic Magicians starting in 2000. Wickhart would later join post-grungesters Mavis Piggott, and Rohrmann made a few solo recordings under the name Scientific American.
